Undergraduate


The WISE program will offer four cohorts of support for students pursuing certification in mathematics or biology at the undergraduate level. Further, Summer Internships will be available for freshmen and sophomores majoring in biology, chemistry, or mathematics. Opportunities exist for York Technical School students to participate in the Summer Internships even before transferring to Winthrop.

Undergraduate Scholars

This program is designed for individuals who have completed a content degree in the area of certification within one year of application. Students must meet all MAT5 content requirements before admission and pass content licensure tests for admission. More information on the specific requirements for the MAT5 are now available!

Interns

The WISE Summer Internship is available to all freshman and sophomore mathematics, biology and chemistry majors. It will serve as an introduction to both research and education in the content area.

  • 15 students annually, with three spaces intended for York Tech students planning to transfer to Winthrop
  • Interns will receive $750 and housing in a Winthrop residence hall.
